Welcome to The Playground @ Amsterdam Coffee Lab — an open tasting and sharing session for everyone who loves experimenting with coffee recipes, beans, and gear.

From coffee lovers for coffee lovers, this is where we meet, taste, and learn together in a relaxed and inspiring space in Weesp–Amsterdam.

☕ What is The Playground?

It’s a place where you can geek out about everything that makes coffee so fascinating — from particle size distribution, pressure profiling to bicarbonates, ROR, extraction yield (EY), bypass, RDT, WDT, or PID.

It’s also where you’ll find fellow enthusiasts who love to:

Whether you’re an espresso pro, filter perfectionist, (home) roaster or first-time home brewer — you’re welcome here.

🎯 What you can do

• Test your latest AeroPress or V60 recipe and get live feedback
• Explore new brewers like the Tricolate, Hoop, or Fellow Aiden
• Try a Duomo WDT, experiment with grind consistency, or sample-roast your own coffee
• Play with refractometers and learn how EY and TDS affect taste
• Make an espresso martini, brew a Syphon, or share your favorite new beans 
• Ask feedback on your roast or brew!

Bring your own gear and coffee if you like — we encourage sharing, tasting, and open discussion.

🌿 Community & Mindset

At Amsterdam Coffee Lab we keep things open, friendly, and respectful.

We all started as beginners — so no question is too small, and no idea too geeky.

We ask everyone to be mindful of shared tools and equipment and respect each other’s brews, opinions, and experiences.

If you prefer to just observe and taste, that’s perfectly fine too. This is a laid-back, pressure-free space — where curiosity and collaboration come first.

🍞 Bring your flavours

Most coffee lovers are foodies too, so feel free to bring your home-baked bread, kombucha, or that delicious olive oil you brought from holidays — whatever makes you happy to share.

We’ll also surprise you with something fancy from our side each time.

Many of us are members of SCA Netherlands (Specialty Coffee Association), but you don’t have to be. Just bring your curiosity and your love for good coffee. 

🫰We do ask a small fee to cover the costs of the space, cleaning, materials use, etc. 

🎉 Are you a product owner or designer that wants to introduce a new products or promote and existing product? We are open for co-labs, from cuppings till soft launches and full fledged product introductions.

In the evenings and on weekends, parking is available for free right outside our entrance. During business hours, we have a limited number of parking spots. 

The Weesp NS station, which includes a P&R facility, is just a 5-minute walk from here.

You can easily reach us by bike from Amsterdam, Almere, the Gooi, and nearby locations. We also have charging options available for your e-bike.
