Note: This is for 58.5 competition style baskets and works well with most common brands and 58mm group head/portafilters such as IMS, VST, LM, Etc. If your shower screen has a thick screw head sticking out you need a big basket to avoid the puck screen being pressed into it (see picture).
the CoffeeNose👃: Puck screens are great to make your extraction more even and assist with an equal pre-infusion. Also keep your showerscreen more clean so that you can save on water and electricity by flushing less. Especially for the home barista where daily backflushing is not feasable due to the low volume of shots.
I do recommend to flush your puckscreen, together with your basket, with hot water and when needed with espresso oil cleanerto avoid rancid oils influencing your brews.
