The original filters from Melitta, made in Germany. Melitta Bentz, invented coffee filters and pour-over brewing in 1908. For over 100 years, Melitta has remained a pioneer in coffee, coffee filters and coffee brewers. Paper filters are 100% biodegradable.
The CoffeeNose 👃: The biggest mistake you can make is using brown paper filter from the supermarket. Use white filters to avoid a nasty paper flavor in your coffee. Read more about it in the Tips from the CoffeeNose and do the taste test yourself!
When buying the right filters you want to make sure your equipment is clean and decalsified, that you buy good quality beans (you won't find those in the supermarket) and grind your beans fresh. Use a (kitchen) scale to measure the amount of coffee and water (60 grams coffee per 1 liter water).
Always pre-wet the filter before adding the freshly ground coffee.
Compatible coffee: find your blend with a filter tasting set or ask for a single origin recommendation! FJ filter blend is a great coffee with Fruity & Juicy flavor notes.
Are you a tad more traditional? We reccomend the CN blend with Chocolaty & Nutty blend. If you are used to add milk you can ditch the sugar. Our specialty coffee blends are sweet by themselves.
