porcelain for coffee lovers
āš Loveramics x Dale Harris Cup ā World Barista Champion tasting cup
Competition heritage · handmade inspiration · café-ready porcelain
The Loveramics Dale Harris Cup is a special collaboration between Loveramics and Dale Harris, World Barista Champion 2017. Originally inspired by cups designed and handcrafted by London ceramicist Ben Sutton, a close friend of Dale, these cups became part of the coffee competition world because they do something simple but powerful: they make coffee feel more expressive.
Dale fell in love with the original handmade design, and Loveramics brought the concept into production with the durability and consistency needed for busy cafƩs, brew bars, and serious home coffee setups.
Available in multiple colours and sizes, these handle-less porcelain cups are designed for baristas, coffee lovers, and sensory geeks who want a cup that looks beautiful and helps the coffee shine.
Why this cup is special
š Competition-inspired design
Developed from the sensory thinking behind barista competition service, where every detail matters: aroma, texture, temperature, colour, and presentation.
š¶ Heavy porcelain feel
The cup has a satisfying, substantial porcelain weight. It feels premium in the hand and creates a slower, more intentional tasting moment.
š Aroma-forward drinking experience
Because the cup is handle-less and relatively deep, your nose naturally comes closer to the coffee while sipping. That enhances the aroma experience and makes the drink feel more immersive.
š Deep enough for a small swirl
A gentle swirl helps open up aromatics, just like with wine or specialty tasting cups. Perfect for espresso, filter coffee, and syphon.
Cup sizes
Available in the popular barista sizes:
- 80 ml ā espresso, ristretto, concentrated brews, tasting flights
- 150 ml ā longer espresso, small milk drinks, filter tasting
- 200 ml ā filter coffee, syphon, small americanos, slow-sipping brews
No saucer. Pure cup. Pure focus. Or mix & match with Loveramic Egg saucers!
Colours & finishes
The Dale Harris collection is available in a range of beautiful ceramic finishes:
- Cream ā the iconic competition-style cup used by Dale Harris on stage
- Translucent blue
- Translucent green
- Crackle Glaze colours ā unique studio-inspired finishes with a crackled effect normally associated with small-batch ceramics
Each glaze has its own character, making every cup feel like a small piece of pottery.
š Why we like it at WB.coffee
At Amsterdam Coffee Lab, we love these cups because they help people taste more consciously.
The espresso cups have a nice heavy porcelain feel and can do two useful things depending on how you use them:
- Serve straight away ā espresso cools slightly faster, making flavour easier to taste
- Pre-heat the cup ā your coffee stays warmer for longer
Your nose naturally sits close to the cup while drinking, which enhances aroma. And because the cup is deep enough for a gentle swirl, it works beautifully for tasting sessions.
We especially like these cups for:
- Filter coffee tasting
- Syphon coffee
- Longer 1:3 style espresso shots
- Coffee Omakase tasting flights
- Sensory comparison sessions
This is not just a pretty cup. It changes how you experience the coffee.

Good to know
Because of the nature of ceramic production, small variations in glaze, texture, tone, and finish may occur. Especially with crackle glaze colours, each cup can look slightly different. These natural variations are part of the charm and are not considered defects.Ā
