Try Before You Buy โ€” Experience Coffee, Not Just Products

Taste it. Touch it. Compare it. Love it.

Why buy coffee equipment without knowing how it feels, works or performs?

At WB.coffee / Amsterdam Coffee Lab in Weesp, we believe that great coffee and great equipment deserve to be experienced, not just viewed on a screen.

We're a real, independently operated specialty coffee business, serving coffee lovers since 2018. No faceless e-commerce warehouse, no corporate sales scripts. Just genuine advice, a carefully curated selection and people who love coffee as much as you do.

Whether you're choosing a โ‚ฌ5 spare part or investing in your dream espresso setup, you're welcome.

Come curious. Leave inspired. And perhaps with something delicious.

Important: Not every model is available for demonstration, and a particular grinder or espresso machine may not be available to operate before purchase.

โš–๏ธ Cups, Filters & Barista Tools

Sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference.

Explore and compare:

  • Espresso cups, mugs and tasting glasses
  • VST and IMS precision filter baskets
  • Paper filters and brewing accessories
  • Precision coffee scales
  • Selected barista tools and accessories

Feel the materials, compare sizes, check compatibility and discover what suits your equipment and brewing style.

For paper filters and baskets, we can often demonstrate their brewing characteristics using our own equipment.

๐ŸŒฑ Coffee, Tea & Chocolate โ€” Taste Before You Choose

This is where Amsterdam Coffee Lab really comes alive.

Our Tasting Menu lets you discover:

  • WB.coffee signature espresso and filter blends
  • Rotating single-origin specialty coffees
  • Limited editions and unusual processing methods
  • Carefully selected loose-leaf teas
  • Selected bean-to-bar chocolates and other delicacies

Why buy a full bag of unfamiliar coffee when you can first discover whether you actually enjoy its flavour?

Try something outside your usual preferences. Compare a washed Ethiopian with a naturally processed coffee, discover a different espresso blend, or explore the aromatics of an exceptional tea.

๐Ÿฅก Specialty coffee from the tasting menu @ Amsterdam Coffee Lab

Tastings are subject to the menu, availability and applicable menu prices.

๐Ÿ’ง Explore Your Brewing Water

Curious about how water changes the flavour of coffee?

Ask about tasting or brewing comparisons using APAX or Lotus brewing minerals.

Discover how mineral composition can influence acidity, sweetness, balance and mouthfeel.

These comparisons require advance arrangements and depend on availability.

โ˜•๐Ÿฅค Cups, Mugs, Glasses & To-Go Drinkware โ€” Find Your Perfect Match

A great coffee deserves the right cup. And choosing one is about much more than colour or design.

The shape, rim thickness, material, weight and capacity of your cup can influence how you experience aroma, temperature, texture and flavour. Whether you're enjoying a delicate filter coffee, a powerful espresso, a creamy flat white or taking your favourite brew on the road, the drinking vessel matters.

At Amsterdam Coffee Lab, you can see, hold and compare a wide selection of cups, mugs, glasses, tumblers, travel cups and insulated thermos bottles from brands including:

  • ๐ŸŽจ ACME โ€” Contemporary cafรฉ cups, designed for everyday professional use.
  • ๐Ÿบ Loveramics โ€” Beautiful ceramics, signature espresso cups and sensory-focused drinkware.
  • ๐Ÿ‘ƒ Cupcano โ€” Aroma-focused tasting glasses and ceramic cups that invite you to explore coffee differently.
  • โœจ Peakabrew โ€” Distinctive drinkware for coffee lovers who appreciate design.
  • ๐Ÿฅค Vialli Design โ€” Practical, stylish glasses, mugs and insulated drinkware.
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Motta โ€” Classic Italian espresso cups and barista accessories.
  • ๐Ÿต Hario โ€” Japanese glassware, servers and elegant coffee and tea vessels.
  • ๐Ÿงณ Fellow โ€” Thoughtfully designed travel mugs, tumblers and insulated cups.
  • ๐Ÿ La Marzocco โ€” Espresso cups and merchandise inspired by Italian espresso culture.
  • ๐Ÿฆ Rhino Coffee Gear โ€” Durable cups, pitchers and practical cafรฉ essentials.
  • ๐ŸŒธ ORIGAMI โ€” Colourful Japanese ceramic cups with distinctive shapes and finishes.

๐Ÿ‘„ Feel the Difference

Compare a thick-walled espresso cup with a delicate tasting glass. Discover how different shapes affect your drinking experience, or find out which travel mug fits your lifestyle.

Check the size, grip, balance, rim and finish before choosing.

Most available cups, mugs, glasses and thermos bottles can be inspected and compared. Drinking from a specific model depends on whether we have a suitable demonstration sample.

After all, the best cup isn't necessarily the most expensive one. It's the one you love using every day.

๐Ÿฅ„๐Ÿ”ฌ Cupping Tools โ€” Taste Like a Professional

Want to explore coffee the way professional tasters, roasters and sensory specialists do?

Cupping is one of the most revealing ways to evaluate coffee. By preparing different coffees under comparable conditions, you can focus on aroma, flavour, acidity, sweetness, body, aftertaste and overall balance.

At Amsterdam Coffee Lab, sensory evaluation is part of what we do every day.

Explore our selection of professional cupping equipment, including:

  • ๐Ÿฆ Rhino Coffee Gear โ€” Practical cupping bowls and spoons for training and professional evaluation.
  • ๐ŸŽจ ACME โ€” Ceramic vessels and cups suitable for sensory comparisons.
  • ๐Ÿต Hario โ€” Japanese cupping bowls, spoons and glassware.
  • ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Brewista โ€” Cupping accessories and precision brewing tools.
  • ๐ŸŒธ ORIGAMI โ€” Distinctive ceramic vessels for coffee tasting and evaluation.
  • ๐Ÿฅ„ And more โ€” Selected professional sensory tools and accessories.

๐Ÿ‘ƒ Discover Your Sensory Preferences

What makes a good cupping spoon? How does the shape of a bowl influence practical tasting? Why do professionals use standardized equipment?

Come and compare:

  • ๐Ÿฅ„ Cupping spoons โ€” bowl shape, depth, balance and comfort.
  • ๐Ÿบ Cupping bowls โ€” ceramic, glass and different capacities.
  • โš–๏ธ Consistent brewing setups โ€” weighing, dosing and preparation.
  • ๐ŸŒˆ Sensory evaluation โ€” comparing coffees under controlled conditions.

Whether you're preparing for an SCA Sensory Skills course, building a professional cupping setup or simply becoming a more curious coffee lover, we'll help you choose equipment that suits your needs.

Want to go beyond the equipment? Join a Coffee Omakase tasting, a sensory workshop or The Playground @ Amsterdam Coffee Lab to learn, experiment and share your discoveries with fellow coffee lovers.

Most available cupping tools can be inspected before purchase. Hands-on cupping demonstrations and guided sensory sessions require an appointment and may involve a participation fee.

๐Ÿ”ฌ The Playground โ€” Learn, Try & Share

Coffee gets more interesting when you share your discoveries.

At The Playground @ Amsterdam Coffee Lab, curious coffee lovers and home baristas can meet, exchange experiences, compare equipment and experiment with brewing techniques.

From grinders and extraction recipes to water chemistry and sensory perception, there's always something new to discover.

Bring your questions, your curiosity and your enthusiasm. You don't need to be an expert.

The Playground is organised through dedicated sessions and events, rather than being an always-open self-service testing area.

๐Ÿ’š What Do We Mean by a Serious Customer?

We don't mean someone with a big budget. We mean someone with genuine interest.

Maybe you're a student saving for your first grinder. Maybe you need a โ‚ฌ5 replacement part, a packet of filters or some cleaning powder. Maybe you're an experienced barista planning your dream setup.

Or perhaps you're simply someone who loves exceptional coffee, fragrant tea, delicious chocolate and well-designed products.

You're all welcome.

We love people who are curious, open-minded and willing to discover something new.

Of course, we also love big spenders. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But a big wallet isn't a requirement. Good taste, curiosity and consideration are worth much more.

๐Ÿค A Little Give & Take

We're a small independent business, not a giant online retailer with an unlimited demonstration budget.

Keeping equipment available, preparing tastings, sharing expertise and maintaining a physical location all take time and money.

If you're visiting for personal advice or an equipment demonstration, we'd love you to explore more than just the item you came for.

Try a coffee you've never tasted. Discover a new tea. Pick up some filters, cleaning products or spare parts. Bring home a beautiful chocolate bar for your partner, children, colleague or secret love. ๐Ÿ’•

You don't have to buy something extra every time. And you certainly don't have to spend a fortune.

Just make the experience worthwhile for both of us.

If you appreciate our advice, hospitality and independent approach, a genuine five-star Google review is also a wonderful way to support us โ€” provided you feel we've earned it.

๐Ÿ“… Planning Your Visit

Most products can be seen, held and inspected before purchase, subject to stock and availability.

For personal advice, product comparisons or demonstrations, we strongly recommend making an appointment.

Tell us what you're interested in, which equipment you already use and what you'd like to compare. We'll let you know what's possible and prepare accordingly.

* Try Before You Buy โ€” Conditions

Our Try Before You Buy service is intended for genuinely interested customers and is subject to the following conditions:

  1. Not every product can be tested. Most available products can be inspected, but operational demonstrations depend on equipment, stock, compatibility and staff availability.
  2. Appointments are strongly recommended. Demonstrations of specific machines, grinders or specialist equipment require advance confirmation.
  3. Some demonstrations may involve a fee. Operating a new espresso machine or grinder can mean that it can no longer be sold as unused and may need to be discounted as a showroom or demonstration model.
  4. Any demonstration fee and its conditions will be agreed in advance. Depending on the equipment, we may charge a fee if you decide not to purchase it. We'll explain whether that fee can be credited towards a purchase before the demonstration.
  5. Tasting menu items are generally paid. Special comparisons, including water-mineral experiments, may require additional preparation or charges.
  6. Opening, using or testing new stock requires our permission. Please don't open sealed packaging or operate equipment without asking.
  7. Try Before You Buy is not an unconditional right to test every product. We reserve the right to decline demonstrations that aren't practical, safe or commercially reasonable.

Our goal is simple: give genuinely interested coffee lovers the opportunity to make better buying decisions while keeping this personal service sustainable.
