V60 filter papers matter
All types of paper filters contribute a paper-like flavor to your coffee, including the tiny aeropress ones. Thus, using smaller filters can improve the taste. Moreover, they are generally slightly less expensive and more eco-friendly. I always advise either downsizing your paper filter or using a larger brewer.
Why is that? With the filter not sticking out above your dripper, it becomes simpler to pre-heat and rinse both your paper filter and brewer. Furthermore, a larger brewer is more effective at keeping the heat in the brewbed (especially if it’s ceramic and pre-heated). While there’s a lot of focus online on brewing temperature, the real concern is the temperature inside your brewbed, rather than just the temperature of the water you’re pouring.
