The SSP Lab Sweet 64mm burrs (often referred to as the SSP "LS" or "Cast" burrs) are highly popular for upgrading premium home and light commercial grinders.
However, compatibility is not universal across all 64mm grinders. Compatibility depends specifically on the grinder's motor mount, carrier design, and screw hole pattern.
🛠️ Confirmed Compatible Grinders (Plug-and-Play)
These grinders typically share the Mahlekönig/Ditting mounting standard and are generally compatible with the SSP 64mm Lab Sweet burrs without modification:
- Lagom P64
- DF64 / G-Iota (First Generation and newer)
- Mazzer Super Jolly (And many of its direct clones)
- Mahlkönig EK43S (Requires a 64mm carrier replacement/mod)
- Option-O Mizen Fellow ODE V2
- Ditting 804 (The 64mm versions)
- Feima 600N / 610N
⚠️ Known Incompatible Grinders (Require Mods or Will Not Fit)
These grinders, while using 64mm burrs, use a proprietary mounting system and will NOT fit the SSP Lab Sweet burrs directly:
- Niche Duo: Uses a proprietary mount system. Not compatible.
- Baratza Forté/Vario: Uses a unique carrier design. Not compatible.
- Eureka Mignon Line (All Models): Eureka uses a unique, proprietary 3-screw hole pattern and custom carrier design. Not compatible.
- Compak E5/E6: Uses a specific Compak carrier. Not compatible.
🔍 Key Compatibility Checks
If your specific grinder is not listed above, check these two critical factors:
- Hole Pattern (3-Screw vs. Other): The SSP 64mm burrs primarily use a standard 3-screw pattern with specific dimensions (typically a 50mm distance between opposite screw centers). Grinders that use a unique 3-screw pattern (like Eureka) or a 4-screw pattern will not work.
- Carrier Height/Design: The overall thickness and the position of the cutting surface on the SSP burrs must match the clearance of your grinder's motor and carrier. If they are too thick, the grinder won't close properly, or if they are too thin, they won't align correctly.
