Ceado Life X Touch – All-Purpose Espresso & Filter Coffee Grinder - Blind 50mm burrs
☕ One Grinder. Every Coffee. Your Choice of Workflow.
The Ceado Life X Touch is a genuinely versatile home coffee grinder designed to move confidently from fine espresso to crisp pour-over, Chemex and coarse French press.
Its innovative 50 mm screwless XB50 flat burrs have a usable grinding surface comparable to conventional 60 mm burrs. Combined with a compact grinding chamber, short coffee pathway and single-dose bellows, this helps minimise retention so that the coffee reaching your brewer is genuinely fresh.
The Life X gives you two completely different ways to work:
🫘 On-demand grinding with the standard bean hopper and programmable timed doses
⚖️ Single dosing with the included dosing funnel, bellows and collection cup
Espresso or filter.
One familiar coffee or a different single origin every day.
Convenience or complete dose control.
The Life X adapts to the way you enjoy coffee.

🧭 Four Functions in One Grinder
The X represents the Life X’s ability to combine four important functions in one compact machine.
1. 🫘 On-Demand Grinding
Install the approximately 300-gram bean hopper when you regularly use the same coffee and want a quick daily workflow.
Programme your preferred grinding times and prepare espresso without weighing and loading the grinder separately for every dose.
2. ⚖️ Single-Dose Grinding
Replace the hopper with the included single-dose funnel and bellows when you want to weigh each dose individually.
This is ideal when:
- Switching between coffees
- Exploring limited-edition single origins
- Keeping beans in vacuum canisters
- Reducing coffee waste
- Grinding for filter recipes
- Avoiding beans ageing inside the hopper
3. ☕ Espresso Grinding
The Life X can grind finely and consistently enough for unpressurised espresso baskets, allowing you to control extraction time, flow and flavour.
4. 💧 Filter Grinding
Move coarser for AeroPress, V60, Chemex, Moccamaster or French press. The burr geometry and grinding chamber are designed to reduce excessive fines at coarser settings, helping produce clearer, less muddy filter coffee.
One machine therefore replaces the need for separate on-demand, single-dose, espresso and filter grinders for many home users.
⚙️ Ceado XB50 Screwless Flat Burrs
At the heart of the Life X are Ceado’s proprietary XB50 multi-purpose flat burrs.
The burrs are manufactured without traditional mounting screws passing through the grinding surface. Removing those screw holes gives the 50 mm burrs a usable cutting area comparable to many conventional 60 mm burr sets.
This design offers several advantages:
✅ Larger effective grinding surface
✅ Fewer spaces where ground coffee can collect
✅ Reduced retention around the burrs
✅ Consistent particle production
✅ Strong performance from espresso to filter
✅ Compact grinding chamber
The burrs use a variable-impact geometry designed to interact differently with the beans as the grind setting becomes coarser. This helps reduce unwanted fines in filter settings while retaining the body and extraction potential needed for espresso.
👅 Clarity for Filter, Body for Espresso
Many grinders described as “all purpose” are really optimised for one end of the grind spectrum.
An espresso-focused grinder may create too many fines at coarse settings, producing filter coffee that tastes heavy, dry or muddy. A filter-focused grinder can create an espresso with insufficient resistance, body or extraction.
Ceado developed the Life X around both requirements.
For espresso
Expect the potential for:
🍫 Defined body
🍯 Balanced sweetness
🍓 Clear flavour separation
☕ Stable extraction resistance
👅 Clean finish
For filter coffee
The Life X is designed to support:
✨ Greater clarity
🌸 More distinct aromatics
🍋 Cleaner acidity
🫖 Less muddy sediment
🍑 Better separation of fruit flavours
The result still depends on the coffee, water and recipe, but the grinder gives you the range required to explore them properly.
✨ Compact Chamber with Minimal Retention
Retention is the ground coffee that remains trapped inside a grinder after the motor stops.
That retained coffee gradually oxidises. During the next use, part of yesterday’s coffee may be mixed into today’s dose.
The Life X addresses this with:
- Screwless blind burrs
- A compact grinding chamber
- A short outlet
- A redesigned anti-static flap
- A single-dose bellows
The Specialty Coffee Association’s Life X product entry describes retention as less than one gram before using the bellows workflow. Actual exchange and retention can vary with grind size, coffee, roast, static and user technique.
Why lower retention matters
✅ Fresher coffee in every dose
✅ Easier bean changes
✅ Less purging between coffees
✅ Lower waste of expensive single origins
✅ More predictable single dosing
✅ Fewer old grounds influencing flavour
We prefer to describe the Life X as very low retention, rather than promising absolute zero retention. No practical grinder is completely free of exchange under every condition.
🌬️ Complete Single-Dose Kit Included
The Life X includes a complete interchangeable single-dose system consisting of:
⚖️ Dosing funnel
🌬️ Air pump or bellows
🥛 Grounds collection cup
Weigh your beans, add them to the funnel and start the grinder. Near the end of grinding, operate the bellows to help move remaining grounds through the chamber and outlet.
The funnel has an approximate capacity of 30 grams, making it suitable for:
☕ Espresso doses
💧 V60 recipes
AeroPress
Hario Switch
🫖 Smaller Chemex brews
🟫 Moccamaster Cup One
🥄 Cupping and tasting portions
The included cup catches coffee cleanly when grinding for methods that do not use a portafilter.
🫘 On-Demand Hopper for Everyday Convenience
Single dosing is precise, but not everyone wants to weigh every portion before the first coffee of the morning.
Install the standard bean hopper when:
✅ You use the same coffee every day
✅ Several people operate the grinder
✅ Speed matters more than changing beans
✅ You prepare multiple espressos in succession
✅ You prefer programmable timed dosing
The hopper holds approximately 300 grams of coffee.
For the best freshness, avoid filling it with more beans than you expect to use within a reasonable period. Store the rest of your coffee in its original resealable bag or a suitable vacuum canister.
The hopper provides convenience.
The single-dose kit provides flexibility.
Both are included, so you do not have to choose permanently between them.
📱 New 2.4-Inch Colour Touchscreen
The current Life X Touch features an updated 2.4-inch colour touchscreen.
The interface uses clear, large graphics and allows you to move quickly between timed and manual grinding. Display colours can also be personalised to suit your setup.
The grinder offers:
⏱️ Two programmable grinding times
🖐️ Manual dosing
🔄 Quick switching between modes
🎨 Customisable interface colours
▶️ Straightforward start and stop control
Timed programmes are useful for the on-demand hopper workflow. Manual mode gives you greater control when single dosing or dialling in a new coffee.
Important
The Life X doses automatically by time, not by integrated weight.
Use a separate coffee scale when accurate dose control is required.
🎛️ Switching Between Espresso and Filter
The Life X has the grinding range to cover multiple brew methods, but moving between espresso and coarse filter settings still requires adjustment.
Practical workflow
- Record the adjustment position of your espresso recipe.
- Run the motor while making large adjustments towards a finer setting.
- Purge or use the bellows after changing settings.
- Grind a small test dose.
- Brew and taste.
- Record successful filter settings.
One grinder is ideal when:
✅ You mainly drink espresso with occasional filter coffee
✅ You enjoy changing coffees using the single-dose kit
✅ Counter space is limited
✅ You do not need espresso and filter simultaneously
✅ You are comfortable recording settings
Two grinders may be more convenient when:
⚠️ You switch from espresso to French press several times per day
⚠️ Several users need different methods immediately
⚠️ Your espresso must remain permanently dialled in
⚠️ Workflow speed is more important than saving space
The Life X is genuinely multi-purpose, but physics still applies: moving across the complete grind spectrum takes adjustment and a small amount of coffee exchange.
🖐️ Adjustable Portafilter Holder
The adjustable portafilter support accommodates different handle and basket combinations.
It allows hands-free espresso grinding, leaving you free to prepare the cup, flush the group or organise other tools.
For filter coffee, remove or reposition the support and use the included grounds cup.
A dosing funnel is recommended when grinding directly into larger espresso baskets. It helps keep fluffy grounds inside the basket and makes subsequent WDT preparation easier.
🧹 Reduced Static and Cleaner Workflow
Static can cause ground coffee to cling to the outlet, dosing cup and surrounding work surface.
Ceado’s redesigned flap helps reduce static and controls the flow of coffee leaving the grinding chamber. This supports:
✨ Cleaner dosing
☕ Fewer scattered grounds
🧹 Less daily mess
⚖️ More predictable transfer
💧 Cleaner filter brews
Static still varies according to humidity, roast level and grind size.
A very small amount of RDT—a lightly moistened spoon or a single fine mist applied to the beans—can further reduce static during single dosing. Avoid adding visible water and never introduce moisture into a filled hopper.

👃 CoffeeNose Tip – Choose the Workflow Before the Coffee
The grinder offers two excellent workflows, but they solve different problems.
Use the hopper when:
🫘 You drink one familiar blend
⏱️ You want a fast morning espresso
☕ You prepare several drinks consecutively
👨👩👧 More people use the grinder
Use single dose when:
🌍 You change origins frequently
⚖️ You want to weigh every dose
💎 You are grinding an expensive limited edition
💧 You alternate between espresso and filter
🫙 You prefer storing beans in vacuum canisters
Do not single dose simply because it sounds more advanced.
A hopper can provide a wonderful, efficient workflow when you use fresh coffee and refill it sensibly. Single dosing becomes valuable when precision, freshness between infrequent uses or regular coffee changes matter more.
The best workflow is the one that encourages you to brew consistently and enjoy the coffee.
⚖️ Cross-Sell: Precision Coffee Scale
The Life X programmes doses by grinding time.
A scale allows you to verify the actual coffee weight and work with repeatable recipes.
Use it to measure:
🫘 Bean dose
⚙️ Grinder output
💧 Brewing water
Espresso yield
⏱️ Extraction time
Brew ratio
Espresso starting point
18 g coffee → 36–45 g espresso
Filter starting point
60 g coffee per litre of water
Examples:
- 15 g coffee → 250 g water
- 18 g coffee → 300 g water
- 30 g coffee → 500 g water
Time-based dosing creates convenience.
A scale tells you what actually happened.
🧰 Cross-Sell: Espresso Preparation Tools
Complete the espresso workflow with:
🌀 WDT tool
⭕ Dosing funnel
⚖️ Espresso Scale
🔘 Precision tamper
🧺 Precision filter basket
Bottomless portafilter
Tamping mat or station
The grinder determines the particle distribution.
Good puck preparation helps distribute those particles evenly so water does not find an easy channel through the coffee bed.
💧 Cross-Sell: Filter Brewing Equipment
Explore the full range of the XB50 burrs with:
- Hario V60
- Hario Switch
- AeroPress
- Chemex
- Moccamaster

☕ Why We Like It at WB.coffee
The Ceado Life X solves a question many coffee enthusiasts face:
Should I buy a convenient hopper grinder, a precise single-dose grinder, an espresso grinder or a filter grinder?
For many home users, the Life X answers: all four.
We particularly appreciate:
⚙️ The innovative XB50 screwless burrs
☕ Genuine espresso-to-filter capability
🫘 The practical on-demand hopper
⚖️ The complete single-dose kit
🌬️ The bellows-assisted low-retention workflow
📱 The clear touchscreen interface
🏠 The compact 15 cm-wide body
👅 Its focus on clean and defined flavours
The two interchangeable workflows are not a gimmick.
Use the hopper with your everyday WB.coffee blend during the week. Install the single-dose kit when you open a rare coffee, prepare filter coffee or organise a tasting session.
The burr geometry is equally interesting. Instead of simply installing small generic espresso burrs, Ceado developed a screwless design intended to maintain espresso body while reducing fines and muddiness at coarser filter settings.
For coffee lovers who genuinely use several brewing methods but do not want an entire row of grinders, the Life X is a particularly intelligent and enjoyable solution.
