De grote voordelen van het gebruik van een papieren filter bij filterkoffie:
- zuivere koffie: het mondgevoel is zijde zacht zonder het zanderige van een metaalfilter.
- zeer weinig cafestol: cafestol verhoogt het LDL-cholesterol. In espresso koffie, french press, turkish, pads (senseo, etc) capsules (nespresso, etc), etc zit veel cafestol. Een fijn papieren filter filtert bijna alle cafestol eruit. Veel gezonder dus. De WB.coffee filters zijn speciaal ontworpen om zo weinig mogelijk cafestol door te laten. Wees niet bang, de caffeine gaat gewoon door het papieren filter (filterkoffie heeft meer caffeine dan espresso en energie drinks!). Filterkoffie past dus heel goed in een laag cholesterol dieet en helpt diabetes voorkomen (vergeleken met metaal gefilterede koffie).
- bijna geen calorien: goede filterkoffie drink je zonder melk en suiker. Hierdoor is het heel gezond (bij max 5 koppen per dag). Filterkoffie bevat ongeveer 2kcal per 250ml
- hydrateerd: filterkoffie is meer dan 98% water (de rest is opgeloste koffie) en hydrateerd bijna net zo goed als puur water.
- bevat flavonoïden (Polyfenolen): voor de meeste goede stoffen drink je liever filter koffie (91.4 mg/portie) dan espresso (28 mg/portie). Dit zijn dezeflde gezonde stofjes die ook in rode wijn, groente en fruit zitten.
