SCA Coffee Skills Program - Brewing Proffesional with Wouter Brunia.
At Amsterdam Coffee Lab we run this course over 4 days (28 hours) to ensure enough time for practice, experiments and exam retakes.
The Brewing Professional course covers the following topics:
In depth exploration of the essential elements of brewing
Formulate and carry out a brew plan and changes to achieve desired extraction & strength levels
Grind particle size: sensory & technical evaluation
The influence of the grinder on extraction
Roast level influence on solubility
Use, measure and chart by-pass
The three key qualities of brew water
Water filtration, measurement and charting
➔ The Trainer
The trainer for this course is Wouter Brunia (the CoffeeNose), Authorized SCA Trainer.
➔ Requirements
SCA CSP Brewing Intermediate is mandatory.
SCA CSP Introduction to coffee & Sensory Skills Intermediate are highly recommended. The Brewing Professional level student should have experience with coffee brewing using various brew methods and coffees.
➔ Covid Requirements
Complaince with our Covid policy is required. Students need to present proof of vaccination or a PCR test.
➔ Certification
The exam consists of a series of practical tests/exams and an online theory exam with a pass rate of 80% required.
The Practical exam consists of the following tests:
Strength comparison
Extraction comparison
Water testing
The practical exam takes 165 minutes with a 80% pass rate.
After passing the exam you will be awarded the SCA CSP Brewing Professional
certificate and earn 25 points towards your coffee diploma.

This course will run from 09:30-18:00 and takes 4 days (28 hours).

€1099 including VAT/BTW / with SCA CSP certificate:
