Thanks to these projects, both the habitat of the endangered Gorilla in Congo and that of the Orangutan in Indonesia is protected. The chocolate is made from Forastero cocoa. By eating this chocolate you protect the gorillas and offer the inhabitants a better future! The last mountain gorillas live in the Virunga National Park in Eastern Congo. Cocoa has been planted on the edge of the park to prevent the degradation of their habitat. The cocoa provides the inhabitants with extra income so that they do not threaten the habitat of the gorillas. Arenga forest sugar has been added to this Gorilla cacao from the Masarang Foundation project. This Foundation, together with the local population, protects the habitat of the Orangutan by, among other things, planting new forest and harvesting the arenga forest sugar from it.
