• How does moka work?

The coffee maker constists of a top sealed tank, a filter and a bottom tank. Put ground coffee beans in the filter, pour water into the bottom tank below the safety valve level and connect all the elements. Put the coffee pot on the stove and wait a few minutes. Hot water moves to the top tank, flowing through the ground beans. Your delicious and aromatic espresso is ready!

• What Coffee to use?

Light Roast: Johan & Nyström or Hunahpu Coffee Roasters single origin coffees. They have a complex flavor with plenty of sweet and fruity notes.

Medium Roast: Johan & Nyström Buena Vista blend - sweet and fruity or Johan & Nyström Fika blend - full-bodied, perfectly balanced coffee with delicate hints of cocoa

Dark Roast: Johan & Nyström Peruras blend - you can expet the notes of caramel, nougat, and red apples.

Extra Dark Roast: Johan & Nyström La Bomba blend - the presence of Robusta in our blend gives the coffee a strong character and an earthy taste, combined with a delicate hint of cocoa and long-lasting acidity.

• Brew your moka pot better with the CoffeeNose

Make sure your Moka pot is clean from coffee oils. Old oils will stick and become rancid. You can use a coffee oil cleaner

Choose a coffee to your taste. Stay away from supermarket coffee and big brands there coffee is old and boring + they don't care about the farmers and the planet.

Always grind your coffee fresh with a (hand) grinder. It's a small investment that will improve your daily coffee ritual. Pre ground coffee often contains a lot of broken beans, etc that can't be used in whole bean coffee. You want to avoid that. Grind as fine as you can (you will notice when you need to grind coarser)

Fill the moka pot bottm with water to around 2/3 (there is a safety valve at this level). Fill with warm water but make sure you can still insert the funnel and screw the top part without buring your fingers. By using hot water the ground coffee will be exposed to heat shorter. This will give a better flavor.

Insert the funnel and add your pre ground coffee. Use a funnel or dosing cup to do it without creating a mess. Screw on the top and add to your heat source. Apply medim heat. You don't want the flames to go around the side of your moka pot.

Remove from the heat source as soon as you hear a sissing sound.

If your coffee is too strong use a little less coffee or grind a bit coarser.

If your coffee is too weak use a bit more coffee or grind a bit finer.
