The award-winning HARIO V60 Dripper is the brewer of choice for coffee professionals and enthusiasts all over the world!
The V60 Switch is the most versatile V60 as it allows you to brew as a traditional V60, as a full immersion or anything in between. Read the tips from the CoffeeNose👃below for tips on how to use the Switch!
Immersion Dripper Switch is a new proposition from this Japanese company. In this device, two brewing methods meet, immersion and pour-over. Special steel ball closes the opening in the dripper, making it impossible for water to pour immediately to the server. After approximately two minutes all you need to do is to press the switch button to enjoy your favorite coffee brew.
The set also includes a glass server and 40 Hario V60-02 paper filters.
The immersion method, characteristic for French Press and Siphon, gives coffee its deep aroma, while pour-over method preserves the cleanliness of it. This device allows for repeatability in coffee making. Every single time we can expect the same result. It is a fantastic solution when we want to compare different coffee beans. Simultaneously, we can use our creativity in adjusting the brewing time, the level of coffee grinding or its amount.
To prepare delicious coffee you need freshly ground coffee of high quality, a filter, your favorite cup or server, and scale. Put the filter in the dripper and put it on the vessel that you use for serving coffee. The infusion process takes only 2 minutes.
The translation of Hario is "the King of Glass," which perfectly reflects the achievements of the company. The brand was founded in 1921 and ever since it has been producing the highest quality products made of glass, ceramics, and metal. The production process takes place in Japan along with the best environmental sustainability.

V60 Feature 1: Cone Shape
The V60's distinctive cone shape allows the layers of coffee grounds to become thicker than on the flat surface of a traditional trapezoid-shaped dripper. The cone-shape lets hot water flow toward the centre, allowing it to stay in contact with the coffee grounds longer and ensuring a proper extraction of taste and aromatic constituents from the coffee grounds.
V60 Feature 2: Spiral Ribs
When the coffee is saturated, the high ribs do not hinder its expansion, and a layer of air is created between the paper and the dripper wall. The twisted ribs prevent the paper and the dripper from sticking to each other, letting the air flow through and allowing the coffee to expand adequately. This promotes a smooth extraction.
V60 Feature 3: One Single Hole
The V60 features one large hole at the bottom, as opposed to several smaller ones seen in for example traditional trapezoid-shaped drippers. This allows the tip of the filter paper to protrude through the hole, which in turn allows the hot water to perform extraction closer to that of a cloth filter, as it is unrestricted by the dripper. Changing the pour speed allows you to brew coffee with your preferred taste, stronger or lighter.
The V60 was designed for accessibility, versatility, and most importantly, making good coffee. And that it does!

Originally released in 2005, the HARIO V60 is loved around the world as a great tool that can help you create variations of flavour when brewing coffee. Its ease of use makes it a great starting point for people interested in specialty coffee, while its versatility makes it so that you can fine-tune your brew to your precise preferences, extracting all the delicious tastes and aromas from your coffee beans.
The shape of the filter and inner ribbing directly affects the taste of the coffee, and is therefore extremely important. But perfecting the production of these shapes in glass presented quite a lot of hurdles and required innovation on our part. Luckily, HARIO started out as a company specializing in heatproof glass, so we put that century of expertise to work, and after a lot of time perfecting the production process, the heatproof glass V60 was finally released in 2009.
