Fellow Prismo

Espresso! Although Prismo won’t substitute a dense doppio extracted on a professional espresso machine, the results are geat! The price - ease of use - result ratio is unbeatable!

A coffee made with Prismo is characterized by a dense, big body and significant intensity. It resembles brews infused with a mokka pot or a home espresso machine. Diluted with a little amount of water becomes a tasty Americano!

You can also use it to brew a less concentrated filter brew with a bit more body than with a paper filter. The prismo turns your Aeropress into an immersion brewer. 

How it's built. The device consists of a threaded plastic element and a metal filter with 70-micron-diameter holes. There is also a small valve mounted inside the spout to prevent leaks before pressing. 

How to brew? 

1. Preheat the Aeropress with the Prismo attached to it. 

2. Grind 20 grams of coffee like for espresso (finely). 

3. Discard the water, pour in the coffee, followed by 50 - 60 ml of hot water (96 degrees Celsius). 

4. Stir vigorously for 10 seconds. 

5. After one minute put the plunger on a durable cup and plunge!

Are you a tad more traditional? We reccomend the CN blend with Chocolaty & Nutty blend. If you are used to add milk you can ditch the sugar. Our specialty coffee blends are sweet by themselves. 

Choose your coffee

When using prismo for a filter style immersion brew apply very little pressure on the plunger keeping a slow but steady flow rate. If you need to apply more pressure try grinding slightly coarser next brew. If you prefer a lower body "cleaner" brew you better choose the AP flow control where you can also use a paper filter (again...low pressure on the plunger!). For an espresso style, more concentrated, coffee you want to grind finer, so fine that you need to apply more pressure to push the coffee out. Be carefull. make sure your cup is strong and it sits on a slip free surface. You can try a tamping mat (or mouse mat) and the Origami Aroma mug is great for Aeropressing.
