Hario V60 Neo

faster flow

🍃🌪️☕ HARIO V60 Dripper NEO (Black) — faster flow, cleaner balance, less bitterness

The HARIO V60 Dripper NEO is a fresh evolution of the classic V60 concept. Its unique rib structure is designed to refine flavour balance while minimizing bitterness—delivering a cup that’s clean, sweet, and still full-bodied.

With 72 ultra-fine spiral ribs that converge into 9 lines at the base, water flows evenly along the entire wall for a faster, more controlled extraction. The result: a harmonious balance of acidity, sweetness, and body—even when you’re dialing in new coffees.

Why the V60 NEO is different

🌀 Innovative rib structure (72 → 9)

  • 72 delicate spiral ribs guide water evenly down the cone
  • Converging into 9 lines helps optimize flow rate
  • Supports more even extraction and reduces the risk of over-extraction

🌡️ Sleek, efficient heat management

  • Handle-free, ultra-thin Tritan™ (PCT resin) body
  • Helps reduce heat loss and maintain a stable brew temperature
  • More consistency cup to cup

🔁 Switch compatible (immersion + drip)

Compatible with the HARIO Immersion Switch — perfect if you want one dripper for:

  • classic pour-over
  • immersion-style brews
  • mix & match brewing experiments

How it tastes in the cup

Expect a V60-style cup with:

  • cleaner finish
  • better sweetness
  • less bite/bitterness when pushing extraction
  • still enough body to feel satisfying

👃 CoffeeNose tip: This dripper is amazing for bright coffees that can turn sharp when over-extracted. The faster, cleaner flow helps keep things sweet and balanced.

Tip from the CoffeeNose👃

tips from a Neo fan

Here’s a simple, repeatable (15 g → 250 g / 1:16.67) recipe that works beautifully with the V60 NEO’s faster, cleaner flow.

What you need

  • 15 g freshly ground coffee
  • 250 g water
  • V60-02 filter + V60 NEO
  • (Polaris) Scale with timer

Settings

  • Grind: medium (V60 range)
  • Water temp: 93–95°C (go 92–93°C for darker roasts, 95–96°C for very light roasts)
  • Target time: 2:30–3:15 (NEO runs a bit faster)

Step-by-step

  1. Rinse filter thoroughly with hot water → discard rinse water
  2. Add coffee, shake to level
  3. Bloom: pour 45 g water (3× dose) in 10–15 sec
    • Swirl gently to wet all grounds
    • Wait until 0:45
  4. Main pour: from 0:45 → 1:30, pour up to 180 g in slow circles
  5. Final pour: from 1:30 → 1:50, pour up to 250 g
  6. Let it drain. Aim to finish around 2:45–3:10

Dial-in guide (CoffeeNose quick fixes 👃)

  • Too fast / weak / sour: grind finer (or pour a little slower)
  • Too slow / bitter / dry: grind coarser (or lower temp)
  • Want more sweetness/body: slightly finer + a gentle swirl after the final pour
  • Want more clarity: slightly coarser + avoid extra agitation
  • If you truly want to #extractmorewiththecoffeenose you should get yourself some Sibarist FAST (competition) filters. Due to it's fast flow rate you can grind finer and extract more. Look for our combo Switch + FAST filters.

☕ V60 NEO Single-Pour Recipe (15 g → 250 g / 1:16.67) — one smooth pour, surprisingly consistent

This is the “lazy genius” recipe: one continuous pour (after a quick rinse), built to match the NEO’s fast, even flow.

What you need

Settings

  • Grind: medium-fine (a touch finer than the multi-pour recipe)
  • Water temp: 93–94°C
  • Target time: 2:30–3:00

Step-by-step (single pour)

  1. Rinse filter with hot water → discard rinse water
  2. Add coffee, shake to level
  3. Start timer and pour continuously from 0:00 to 0:45 up to 250 g
    • Pour in small circles, then finish center
    • Keep the bed depth steady (avoid blasting one spot)
  4. Optional: one gentle swirl at the end of the pour (at ~0:45) to level the bed
  5. Let it draw down. Aim to finish 2:30–3:00

CoffeeNose dial-in tips 👃

  • If it finishes before 2:20 → grind finer
  • If it runs past 3:15 → grind coarser (or pour a little faster)
  • Too sharp/acidic → lower temp to 92–93°C or grind a hair finer
  • Too flat/bitter → grind a hair coarser and skip the swirl
